Policies and Information

Home Visits

If a house call is required, please make your request between 8.30am and 10.30am by giving full details - including your address and telephone number to the receptionist, so that the necessary arrangements can be made.

If an urgent house call is required due to an emergency, then please telephone the surgery and the details will be given to the On-Call Doctor immediately.

Please do not ask the Doctor to call unless the patient is too ill to attend the surgery. Remember, the Doctor can see five patients at the surgery in the time it takes to attend one home visit. Please use the service responsibly. If a patient has a rash or a fever, then attending surgery will not cause any harm or endanger others, please tell the receptionist and we will see you quickly.

Emergency Out of Hours Calls

Tel: 0845 601 0110. Weekdays from 6.30pm to 8.00am. All day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

On phoning the number, you will be asked the full details of the problem and the Doctor will be contacted promptly. The Doctor will then speak to you as soon as possible to discuss the situation and give advice or arrange for you to be seen.

The emergency number is always available, if you call the surgery at any time.

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, such as severe chest pain, extreme shortness of breath, or collapse, dial 999 to call an ambulance straight away.

Remember, when calling from a payphone, you will need enough change for up to two calls.

NHS Direct may be contacted as a source of medical advice from qualified healthcare professionals. Tel: 0845 46 47.

Violent or Abusive Patients

Patients should be aware that we operate a policy of Zero Tolerance, which if abused will result in that patient, and probably their family, being removed from the practice.
