Foreign Travel Advice & Injections
Travel advice, including injections and other health matters, is given by our Practice Nurses. Please make an appointment with the nurse for travel advice. We keep the majority of injections in stock but it is worth enquiring early as some courses of injections take several weeks and should be given well before the holiday.
Our Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants are available for health advice, minor illnesses, blood pressure checks, blood tests, ECG tests, and chronic disease monitoring. They have various morning and afternoon clinics every week. Please note that clinics are by appointment only.
A minor operation services is available for all patients, this is held Wednesday afternoons at Newpark Surgery. Please see the Doctor in surgery who will then refer your case to the clinic.
If you are a carer, please notify the receptionists, we may be able to offer you help and advice. You may also be entitled to receive a flu vaccination each year. You do not need to identify the person you care for.
Annual Influenza Vaccination Programme
The Practice participates in the annual national flu campaign, which begins every September. Patients with certain underlying clinical conditions, or those over 65 years of age, are entitled to the flu vaccination free-of-charge. Please enquire at the surgery for further details.
An NHS self referral Physiotherapy service is available for both acute and more chronic musculoskeletal symptoms. Please call 01443 715012 to speak with the Physiotherapy service who will advise and triage your needs as appropriate.
In addition to the wide range of NHS services that are provided free at the point of delivery, we may provide other services which fall outside the scope of the NHS for which a fee is payable. The following list is not exhaustive, but such services include:
- The preparation of medical reports for insurance companies/solicitors;
- Private certificates;
- Conducting medical examinations, eg for insurance companies, driving medicals, holiday cancellations;
- The completion of medical questionnaires for public/private authorities;
- Completion of forms, eg fitness to travel;
- Production of letters of reference;
- Private prescriptions.
The fees for these services are published annually by the British Medical Association – please ask at reception for the latest prices. Fees are to be paid at the time that the service is delivered and payment can be made by cash only.
