How to book appointments

How to book an appointment with a healthcare professional

Here is a description of how each of our healthcare professionals can help you:

  • Doctors - You may request a specific practitioner if you have a preference, however it is important to remember they may not be available on that day, and you may be easier to book in advance to see them in 2-3 weeks. We cannot guarantee you see the same doctor, however we will do our best if requested.

  • Nurses and HCAs - For flu vaccinations, wound dressings, diabetic and asthma/COPD reviews

  • Pharmacists - for medication queries or reviews

  • Physiotherapists - for any new muscle or joint symptoms

  • Mental Health Practitioner - for support with your mental health

You can book an appointment by phoning either of our surgeries (Newpark surgery or Beddau), between 8:30am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday. The appointments we have available include:

  • Pharmacist: Monday to Friday 8:30am-3pm

  • Nursing: Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm

  • Phlebotomists: Monday to Friday 8:10am - 11:10am

  • ECG: Monday 1:30pm - 4:10pm

  • Physiotherapist: Monday 12:40pm-3pm, Friday 8:20am - 3pm

  • Mental Health Practitioner: Monday 9:30am-3pm, Tuesday 9:30-2:30pm

  • Doctor Appointments: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

    • Routine Appointments (Book in Advance): We release new routine appointments daily, which can be booked 2 to 3 weeks in advance. You can call us between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm to book. To minimize your wait time on the phone, please try to avoid calling during our peak times (8:30 am – 9:30 am and 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm) for non-urgent bookings.

    • Urgent / Same-Day Appointments: We release slots for urgent, same-day appointments at 8:30 am and 2:00 pm daily. Please call at these times if you have an urgent medical issue that needs to be seen that day.

    • Your Choice of Appointment: For both routine and urgent care, you can request either a face-to-face or a telephone appointment.

  • Emergency Doctor - We provide emergency slots in the morning from 11 am-12 pm, and have an on-call doctor in the afternoon between 12 pm and 6:30 pm, who deals with all emergencies. Please call anytime between 8:30 and 6:30 pm if you feel you need to see a doctor urgently. If you feel very unwell then please consider whether an ambulance or going to the hospital is more appropriate

How to book in for bloods

If a doctor has requested an urgent blood test, please call reception and they will ensure you will get an appointment. If it is for a routine blood test (medication review, non urgent bloods), then please call to book in for the blood test anytime between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm.

How to book in for a vaccination

For children and travel vaccinations, please call our reception team who will be able to book you in for an appointment.

For flu vaccinations, we do these throughout the winter months, and will provide updates on our website and facebook group, when we will be releasing these appointments.

How to access help out of hours

Our services are available from between 8:30am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours you will need to call 111 to access the GP out of hours. If it is a medical emergency please call 999.
